Garth Winterkorn University of Buffalo, BS in Civil Engineering, 1983. Garth has over 25 years of experience. “I recall being at a site walk with Chuck and Mike Capparelli who ran the Town of Webster Sewer TreatmentPlant, at the time when I was considered a rookie. We were walking the Drumm Rd. sewer project and I was listening to Mike and Chuck discuss the difficulty of installing the sewer through a high point in the road.I walked to the side of the road to have a cigarette and noticed a creek. I suggested an alternative route along the creek to keep it shallow and that’s the way it was built; an engineer was born. One of the subdivisions it served ended up in my design of an earthen dam on Shipbuilders Creek, which I’ve been told works very well by downstream citizens. I guess my point is, while the job can be difficult, an accomplishment comes when seeing it built.”
