TELECOMMUNICATIONS CONSTRUCTION & ZONING

We are seeking a skilled AutoCAD Designer with expertise in Civil 3D to create construction and zoning drawings for wireless telecommunications projects. The ideal candidate will work closely with engineers and project managers to produce accurate and detailed designs that adhere to local regulations and industry standards. This role will primarily focus on wireless telecommunications infrastructure, including cell tower sites, antenna placements, and supporting structures within Rochester, NY.

Job Type: Full-time

Schedule: 8 Hour Shift (Day shift – Monday to Friday) with overtime

Experience: Minimum of 3 years of experience as an AutoCAD Designer, preferably in Civil Engineering or Landscape Architecture projects. Proficiency in using AutoCAD Civil 3D 2024 for drafting and design tasks is essential.

Education: Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Landscape Architecture, Drafting, or a related field. OR Relevant certifications or vocational training in AutoCAD or AutoCAD Civil 3D are highly desirable.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Develop detailed construction and zoning drawings using AutoCAD Civil 3D for wireless telecommunications infrastructure projects.
    • Create site layouts, grading plans, utility plans, and structural details in compliance with client specifications, industry standards, and local zoning regulations.
    • Work closely with engineers, project managers, and other design team members to ensure designs meet project requirements and timelines.
    • Prepare designs for cell tower sites, antenna mounts, equipment shelters, and related infrastructure.
    • Incorporate survey data, topographic information, and other relevant inputs into construction drawings.
    • Revise drawings based on feedback from clients, engineers, and regulatory agencies.
    • Ensure that all designs comply with local zoning laws, environmental regulations, and building codes specific to wireless telecommunications projects.
    • Assist in preparing documents for permit applications and construction bids.
    • Maintain organized project files and design documents for future reference.
    • Participate in project coordination meetings and provide technical support as needed.
    • Stay updated on the latest trends and best practices in wireless telecommunications design and construction.

QUALIFICATIONS:

    • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering Technology, Drafting, or a related field.

    • 3+ years of experience working with AutoCAD Civil 3D, specifically for construction and zoning drawings.

    • Familiarity with wireless telecommunications infrastructure design, including cell towers, antenna placements, and site development.

    • Strong knowledge of civil engineering principles, site grading, and zoning requirements.

    • Experience interpreting surveys, construction plans, and zoning regulations.

    • Excellent attention to detail and ability to produce precise and accurate designs.

    • Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.

    • Familiarity with Rochester, NY zoning and permitting processes is a plus.

    • Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
