Electrical designer/Utility coordinator

WIRELESS TELECOMMUNICATIONS

Costich Engineering, Land Surveying and Landscape Architecture, D.P.C, is a well-established Site Design firm with 47 years of design history, we are seeking a highly motivated and versatile electrical engineer to work with our design group. Previous experience working in the field on electrical system design and construction is highly desirable, even more so for field experience on Wireless Telecommunication projects.

Job Type: Full-time

Schedule: 8 Hour Shift (Day shift – Monday to Friday) with overtime

Experience: Previous experience in electrical design, utility coordination, telecommunications, or construction project management is highly preferred.

Education: Associates Degree in Land Surveying, Civil Engineering, or related field experience preferred

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Design: Develop one-line power diagrams, control schematics, and wiring diagrams. Develop cable schedules, conduit layouts and details from customer standards and specifications. Voltage drop calculations, conduit fill calculations, and grounding requirements per NEC
    • Conducting and Coordinating: Coordinate with utility companies, local authorities, and other stakeholders to obtain necessary permits, clearances, and approvals for telecommunications projects. Conducting field visits to meet with utility planners or determine design solutions. Develop and maintain strong relationships with utility providers to facilitate efficient coordination and timely resolution of issues
    • Internal Collaboration: Quality review and redline of electrical plan and detail sheets on all project drawing sets (construction drawings). Collaborate with project teams, engineers, and contractors to incorporate utility coordination requirements into project plans and design

SKILLS & REQUIREMENTS:

    • Previous experience in electrical design, utility coordination, telecommunications, or construction project management is highly preferred.
    • Strong knowledge of utility infrastructure, including electrical, telecommunications, water, and sewer systems.
    • Familiarity with regulatory requirements, permits, and codes related to utility coordination in New York.
    • Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
    • Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities effectively.
    • Ability to meet and maintain client deadlines
    • Proficiency in project management tools and software.
